OpenAI Unveils GPT-4 API and Cutting-Edge AI Updates for Developers

OpenAI, the AI start-up known for its ChatGPT, has made an exciting announcement today. The much-awaited GPT-4 API has been officially released, granting access to all participants currently enrolled in the API program. In addition to this major release, OpenAI has also introduced GPT 3.5, DALL-E, and Whisper as part of their latest update. Moreover, OpenAI has revealed its plan to discontinue older models in the Completions API starting from early 2024.

OpenAI reported that since March, they have received an overwhelming number of requests for access to GPT-4 from millions of developers. Furthermore, they mentioned that the range of products utilizing GPT-4 is expanding rapidly. OpenAI made an exciting announcement, declaring, “In a significant development, the highly anticipated GPT-4 API is now accessible to all current API developers who have a proven track record of successful payments. What’s more, these developers can harness the power of the GPT-4 API, which offers an impressive 8K context for enhanced language capabilities.”

OpenAI has plans to gradually grant access to new developers by the end of this month. Additionally, they intend to increase the rate limits based on compute availability.OpenAI has taken a meticulous approach in determining the release of their APIs, prioritizing stability and readiness.
